I was born in Chicago and grew up in
the northern suburb of Glenview. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in art and art education from Clarke University
in Dubuque, IA. After teaching elementary art for 3 years, I earned my Masters of Art degree in painting and drawing
from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb. Afterwards, I relocated to Council Bluffs, IA, where I've lived and worked
ever since. Those who have watched my work develop over the years have noticed I've employed a growing and varied
range of media and techniques, both abstract and representational. My artwork has included sculpture, painting and drawing.
Working in different art disciplines has enriched my work by interweaving it thematically and formally, leading me to new
insights and discoveries. My artwork has been exhibited in solo and group shows throughout the country. It is
represented in many corporate, public, and private collections, including the Omaha Children's Museum, the University
of North Dakota, Grand Forks, University of Nebraska, Kearney, Schiff, Hardin & Waite, Chicago, Peed Corporation,
Lincoln, NE, and EMC Insurance Companies, DesMoines, IA. "Missouri River Transit", a glass mosaic, is part
of the Icon Interpretive Sculpture Project for the Lewis and Clark Voyage of Discovery Bicentennial and is located at Dodge
Riverside Golf Club in Council Bluffs, IA. Tara Heights Elementary School
in Papillion, Nebraska displays my relief mosaic above their butterfly garden and my cement and mosaic 50th
anniversary sculpture on their front lawn, and Phoenix House Women's Shelter in Council Bluffs features my relief sculpture
commission in its lobby. Some of my stained glass window designs can be seen at Queen of Apostles Church, St. Mark's
United Methodist Church, Alegent Hospital, St. Albert School, and Abstract Guaranty Co. in Council Bluffs. I've
also taught numerous art workshops and residencies to people of all ages, many through both the Iowa and Nebraska Arts
Councils' Artists in Schools and Communities programs.
